Who we are

Relay, and provides the self-hosted KlyppServer software for home media
workflows.

Relay (operated by Klypp LLC)
- No payload storage: traffic is handled transiently in memory and is not
written to disk.
- No content inspection: we do not read or analyze the files or data you send; the
relay’s role is routing only.
- Minimal operational logs: we may record basic connection metadata (e.g.,
timestamps, success/error codes, non-sensitive technical diagnostics) strictly for reliability and
abuse prevention. These logs do not include file contents and are not used for advertising or
profiling.
- Security: connections use TLS/mTLS. Data is processed only as needed to forward it
to your server, then it’s gone.
Our privacy approach
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We minimize collection and retain data only as long as needed for the feature or service.
- Core processing happens on your devices and your self-hosted server.
Mobile app permissions
- Photos/Media/Files: to let you select and send files to your self-hosted server.
- Local Network (iOS): to discover/connect to your server or relay.
- Notifications: optional, for transfer status and server messages.
There is no camera usage in the Klypp app.
What we collect
- Accounts & authentication (required): To sign in to the Klypp app/Relay, you create
a Klypp LLC account. We store your email (and optional display name) and a password stored as a
salted, one-way hash (e.g., bcrypt/Argon2). We also issue short-lived session tokens and may
associate device certificates/keys you enroll for secure access.
- Diagnostics: OS-level crash/usage reports may be shared by Apple/Google if you opt
in at the OS level. We don’t add third-party analytics to the app or server.
- Server logs (self-hosted): KlyppServer writes operational logs on your own machine
(e.g., file transfer events, errors). You control these logs.
- Relay operational logs: minimal connection metadata (timestamps, success/error
codes, non-content technical diagnostics) to maintain reliability and prevent abuse; no payload
contents.
To request account deletion or data export, email privacy@klyppedit.com. We’ll verify ownership before
fulfilling requests.
How we use data
- To perform requested actions (e.g., send a file from phone to your server).
- To maintain security (certificate-based authentication, encrypted transport).
- To troubleshoot issues when you explicitly share logs with us for support.
Where your data lives
- On-device: selected files, app settings, and caches remain on your phone.
- Your server: received files and server logs reside on hardware you control.
- Klypp Relay: processes traffic in memory only; minimal operational logs as
described above.
Data sharing
We do not sell or rent data. We share data only at your direction (e.g., support tickets) or when
required by law.
Security
Klypp uses authenticated, encrypted connections (TLS/mTLS). You control your server’s users and storage.
Keep devices updated and protect your certificates/keys.
Your choices & rights
- Access/Deletion: because we don’t run a hosted account service, you control and can
delete data on your devices and server.
- Diagnostics opt-out: disable OS crash sharing in iOS/Android settings.
- Permissions: revoke app permissions at any time in device settings.
- Requests: email privacy@klyppedit.com;
if you’ve shared info with us (e.g., via email), we’ll honor access/deletion requests per applicable
law.
Some regions (e.g., EU/EEA, UK, certain U.S. states) provide additional rights; contact us
for assistance consistent with local laws.
Children’s privacy
Klypp is not directed to children under 13 (or the age defined by your region). We do not knowingly
collect personal information from children.
